you should watch animal cops on sky as it has many stories like a man beating his dog with a hammer until it backed away, or a woman starving her dog in the basement of her building luckly the animal police rescued these dogs.
Try watching Animal Cops Houston, Miami Animal Police, or Animal Precinct on animal planet. They have all kinds of abuse stories.
