So i need advice on how to cope with this. I live in a apt with my bf and we have neighbors who got a puppy about a month or two ago. They beat the dog all the time and i have called the aspca about it but the officer who i talked to said that the only thing he would be able to do is tell them that they had a complaint but becuase they would only be able to look at the dog and see it was fine that they couldnt do anything about it. And then he said that our neighbors would be able to call in 90 days to see who reported it. So i have been heart broken about this whole situation and it hurts even more to know im a vet tech student whos job will be to help animals and i cant help an animal 2ft across the hall and i have to hear it yelp all the time. Today when i was sitting here, the lady starting beating the dog and i could physically hear the dogs body being hit i was so mad i screamed at her from across the hall is there any words of advice to deal with this, all i can think is to move

I am heartbroken over this as well. I literally rescued a dog from a shelter who had been abused, 2 days before she was to be euthanized, and she is so skittish and scared of everything. All I can tell you is that you are the only one who seems to be on the puppy's side in this. That little dog needs you to stand up for it. Tape the sounds that you hear of them beating the dog and it yelping. Take that to the ASPCA and let them hear what you are talking about. They are there to help animals, and should be more involved. I understand that they have rules that they have to follow, but they need to be informed as to the seriousness of the situation. Good luck, I hope it's not too late for that innocent dog.
CALL THE POLICE! Tell them what is going on and you fear that the puppy or the kids may be being hurt. Mention kids, they'll get there faster.
Then call the ASPCA again and tell them YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE!
Poor thing, such horrible people in this world. If nothing else, the next time you hear it, go knowck on the door and tell them point blank, if you see or hear them be mean to that puppy again, you will call the police
I'd call the police. That puppy needs to be taken away from there and put in a good home. With animal abuse being so prevalent in the news today, with the Michael Vick dog fighting ring, these people should know better. Try calling the Humane Society too. Once they get that dog out of there, it will need a home. Would you be willing to take it in? You sound like a loving, responsible person, which is what that poor puppy needs. There is a special place in hell for animal abusers, much hotter.
When you hear it call the police/ Disturbing the peace. Call the landlord.
call the humane society or the police and be willing to file charges
It sounds extreme, but use a video camera, camera phone, etc, to video tape hte repeated beatings from your apt if possible. Then turn these tapes into SPCA. Then they will watch them and see what is really happening, nt just the 'results' being that the dog "looks fine."
If you can't "see" the beatings, then ask the SPCA to come hang out for a day in your apartment (sometimes they will do this) and "listen" to the beatings.
And does it matter if you file a complaint? The dog can't complain to the SPCA- you have to do it for him. What are you worried about them finding out for? So you have cranky neighbors-- guess what- your neighbor's an *** anyway for beating their dogs. Do you really need the respect of someone who is an animal abuser?
Turn their butts in. And offer to take the dog from them if they aren't willing to treat it right.
DO NOT MOVE! Your that dogs only chance, if you move, someone else will ignore it too. You have to march across that hall, bang on the door and demand why they are beating their dog. OK, so that's going a bit to far, but I don't know how someone could do that?
Try again and again, NEVER give up, EVER. Record the noises and give THAT to the officers, if you can somehow video it, Even MORE proof. If you ARE a Vet Tech student, tell someone there, they may be able to help. All I know is, you cannot move. That dog needs you to try to help, it needs you to tell someone and it needs you to find someone who WILL help the puppy out.
I wish you all the best.
Call the police dept and tell them what is going on, and ask them who else you can call, call the Humane society again and demand they do something, call your local T.V station, one that has a local help line...tell them the story, tell them the humane society will not do anything and you fear for the pups life. The Humane Society has the right to take this pup from these people...demand they take action. Talk to the Supervisor of your Apt complex.Do not take NO for an answer from anyone.DEMAND...DEMAND...DEMAN... Find any lead you can for help and follow it up.I personally would go over there, bust down the door and take the pup, and kick their asses while I was there.
right film them with a dicta phone with evidence like that the aspca can't ignore it
or to the extreme smash the door down ruffle the place up and take the dog to youre parnets house
you can't ignore this thing only do the second one when you feel the autorities have let you down
people like this make me sick and they shouldn't be allowed to keep animals
